MY STORY + PHILOSOPHY

With a focus on authentic and emotive visual storytelling, my work captures honest moments of love and family, with all of its edges and quirks.

Photography is intimate. I understand that being in front of a camera is not a comfortable place for most people. That is why I guide you through the entire process. I will listen to your vision and together we will create a space for you to breathe deeply, laugh easily, and be yourself.

Here you can read a bit about my story, see my work, and begin our adventure together.

Elise

*Beaches and Castles...

If you are looking around my website thinking- her portfolio looks more Hawaiian than European- then you have a great eye!

My family and I just moved back to Germany after living in a tropical paradise for a few years. I am extremely excited to visit castles, the Alps, the Black Forest, Venice, and beyond with you as we tell your story.

GOOD TIMES

on the bayou.

My tale starts on Bayou Lafourche where Cajuns are tenacious and have a rich music and culinary heritage. Our speech is peppered with French, and our kitchens eternally ready to make a roux. We observe four seasons– shrimp, crawfish, crab, and oyster. But where our hearts truly lie is in simple, good times with good friends and family.

Laissez les bons temps rouler!

(Let the good times roll!)

INSPIRATION

and a minolta.

I follow in the footsteps of my grandmother Elaine. Her constant accessory was a sturdy 35mm Minolta with a fixed 50mm, 1.4f. She had natural sense of composition and the personality to either work a room or be the quiet observer when needed.

A LOVE STORY

and adventure.

It was a classic story: photographer meets editor, and falls in love. I met this handsome civil engineer while on the staff of our college’s yearbook. After college, we ambitiously dubbed ourselves the Sanchez Explorers and set out to see the world. We have three rambunctious boys. And together we have adventured through 18 countries, been to the top mountains, explored castles, drank Chianti in a Chianti vineyard, traversed deserts of pure white sand, and kayaked in the deep blue waters of the Pacific.
